  • Marty Friedmans Rhoads?

Was this a production model or custom?

I Know there's an RR5 exactly like it but the RR5 doesn't have an ebony fretboard on it or binding (well I don't think it does anyway and I'm too lazy to search, sorry!)
    Gear

    Jackson DXMG
    Jackson JS30RR
    Boss ML2 Metalcore Pedal
    Dunlop GCB-95 Crybaby
    Blackstar HT5H
    Marshall MC212

    Gear I want

    Jackson RR1T Black
    Marshall JCM 800 2203
    Marshall 1960A Cab

I know he played 2 different Rhoads, one had a Floyd, one a TOM string through. I had always assumed they were USA select RR1 and RR1T. This on has the OFR:

I thought it could have been a RR1T but I thought they only had black hardware?

I'm pretty sure he had a PCS with either a changed control plate or just reduced down to a single volume pot....

          Definitely an RR1.

I know his Firebird was a Grover Jackson, but I couldn't tell if the Rhoads had the Grover logo or Custom Shop logo.
I thought I remembered him having a PCS version with the small sharkfins, too.

The string-thru RR is a "Grover Jackson".

I am not sure if the Floyd equipped RR he used in 1992 for In My Darkest Hour was a Pro or a USA model. I seem to recall it being a Pro with Jackson pickups. He has a USA model RR1 on his website with Bill Lawrence pickups.

***sorry, didn't bother to click on the links in this thread . They gotcha covered.***

Jackson pickups, couple good shots of the headstock but I can hardly see anything.

Man, that volume knob can't be further away unless it was on the back of the body! I like it!.

I believe somebody here owns it. There was a discussion about it not too long ago, and some people think there might have been two made.

                            Cool video

I would guess USA based on those shots. Like you said, it is hard to see. Would make sense given the pictures in his gear gallery. Plus, even if you can't clearly read "professional" it's usually easy to make out the larger white blob it leaves on the end of the headstock.
