  • Anyone here with some "obscure" crackles?

I know about the model's and super strats having them, but I hardly see any other guitars with them, such as KV's, Rhoads', and so on. So if you have any, please post (I've seen some Ironbirds and I think a Hamer with the crackle finish, so if you have those, please post as well ) If you have any "conventional" crackles you wanna post, post em!

I'll start the thread out, but I DO NOT OWN THESE! If you're the actual owner, thank you for letting me post it. If you want me to take them down, I'll be happy to, just message or comment.

    Here's a KV I found:

That's a KV Custom not a KV1, and Joel still has that as far as I know...
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

      I didn't say it was a KV1, I put "Here's a KV I found," and maybe you thought the I was a 1?

And if Joel is here, we need better pics.

I read somewhere that they stopped doing this finish due to the materials being dangerous to people and/or the environment. I don't know if thats true or not but they sure seemed to stop doing it all the sudden.

I know the custom shop will still do it, maybe it was just too expensive and not popular enough for production?

Dan Lawrence did some recently... IIRC a shop in Chicago has one of his.

                That's nice, I've seen a lot of B.C. Rich's with crackle paintjobs.

For Jackson? (I don't know much about Dan Lawnrence, so please excuse my stupidity)

Is that a Floyd with a Kahler locking nut on it?

That tuning stability must be INCREDIBLE!

Remember that green B.C. Rich crackle that Tony MacAlpine had? I always thought it looked like watermelon green.

And here's a crackle I used to have:

I want a Black and gray crackle. I think that would look badass.

                        Nice and subtle.

I also want a Silver Swirl finish... Damn that looks cool.

I think thats a JT-6 (says Jackson on the Trem), with the behind the nut style string lock

have you seen Phil Collen's silver crackle soloist? I believe it was used in Def Lep's 'Me and My Wine' video. Not sure of the song title but the guitar is TITS!

I actually contacted Mike Learn about a month ago about him doing a crackle finish on my RR5FR that I just recently acquired. He said he could do it but haven't heard anything back in a while, this thread has sparked my interest in it again... (as long as the funds are there to back it up)

Is there any other brand of guitar...?
