  • Pink spider web star.....

Hello everyone, this is my first post so be gentle. I have had this guitar since the early 1980s and only just realised what I think it is, can anyone help or advise please.

I'll be gentle, but we'll need an actual question to address what you want to know. I'm at work so I don't know if there is a picture with your post or not but if you want info on a guitar it's better to include picture(s) so people can give you correct answers.

The more pics you can provide, especially serial number, neck pocket, etc., the better info the members can give you. The one pic so far will not tell us much of anything. To be honest, the spidey paint job looks a little suspect to me, but I'm no expert.

A picture of the headstock would be nice.

The guitar has no serial number, all metal parts are brass and the rosewood finger board is radiused where it meets the maple, like an old Fender.

Strat headstock with a Charvel logo? Take the neck off and look for writing in the pocket.

They call that rolling the fretboard, or your fretboard has rolled edges. Common on Gibsons too.

Spider-web looks very different to what I'm used to seeing. Very cool.

@ Grandturk - Assuming it is actually a Charvel
                    I like EL34s.

Now thats why I didnt put the headstock on first. Is not a Charvel logo and I can find no other guitar with the same name. I dont really want to take it apart but if that will help. Just managed to take these tho.

The mame is above the laquer coat, no sign of any other logo.

Nice looking guitar. In my opinion, there are a few things that look 'off' for a charvel. The control cavity route on this guitar is not typical for early Charvels and the lower horn edges look too rounded almost like a Kramer Voyager. Any Kramer experts here? Check these photos out. http://www.vintagekramer.com/voyager.htm . The brass tuning machines, knob and bridge were more common in the early 80's and look correct for both early 80's Charvels and Kramers. Like the others state, the neck pocket may give us more information.

The neck isn't Charvel. The 12th dot spacing is too wide and the fret board is too square for a 21 fret Charvel neck.

Anyhow I took the back off.
