Cool to hear some love about the JS serie... When I got my JS Kelly a couple of years ago, I was shy of talking about it. At the time, I wanted a fixed bridge Kelly and could not afford going custom (still can't ).

Plays quite well for a 300$ guitar! When I first started gigging with it, I was using it stock. Since then I added a pair of Dimarzio and some Planet Waves tuner.

As others said, the neck is very confortable. I wish I could have bought such a nice cheap guitar when I started so long ago...

Get a KE3 or any Japan made Kelly. Necks are better

the only thing i don't like about my JS is the lack of a scalloped heel.

I paid $150 for my JS30DK and im happy with it. Got it brand new from GC because they were discontinued. I bought two and gave one as a gift. Shave a bit off the back of the neck and change out the bridge pickup and you have an instant shredder. Even with the licensed FR, it never goes out of tune.

I have The JS30KV. All I did when I bought it was intonate it, set the action to how I like it on all my guitars (really low, almost touching the frets but high enough for no buzzing) and put a set of Ernie Balls Power Slinky strings on it (I use Power Slinky on all my Hard Tails, Regular Slinky on my syncronized bridges and Super Slinky on my floating bridges) and it played perfectly fine and mine is all stock. I do have higher quality guitars but this guitar is still awesome once you get it how you like it. But maybe a new bridge and nut would be good for you if your set up that you like on your guitars didn't work with it. Hope this helps you out a bit so you can enjoy your Kelly as much as I enjoy my King V.
