  • Charvel Model 2 question

    Greets all,

I am trying to find out what year a Model 2 I own was produced. I purchased the guitar used about 10 yrs ago (maybe more, can't remember). I tried checking the serial number at Jackson's website, but couldn't find anything on it. It has a Fort Worth neck plate and the serial number is 285400. Was wondering if anyone could give me any help based on this info, or direct me to a resource where I might find more information on this guitar. Any help would be appreciated.

What brand of trem? The serial number works out to late 86 but the chart is not exact.

Thanks for responding. Thought maybe the forum vets were shunning me since I'm a newbie here. The trem is Jackson's licensed Floyd Rose. Speaking of which, I'd actually like to swap it out for an original FR someday, I find the fine tuners on the Jackson version can be a pain in the a$$. I had a Kramer (can't recall the model, body was unequal V style) years ago with an original FR on it. Once I figured out how to set it up and tune it, I fell in love with it. Makes me wish I still had that Kramer...for the parts...

With that trem it's most likely an 87 or 88.
