Should I install an Original Floyd Rose or A Schaller in my Model 6? Which is better and how are they different?

Re: OFR or Schaller for My Model 6
I've got the Schaller on my Model 6. The Schaller seems to be a little heavier than the OFR. The main difference I can see is that the Base plate of the OFR is made out of hardened steel while the Schaller appears to be cast.(the knife edges are hardened steel inserts, though) I have guitars with both and they are both reliable and solid trems. Take your pick and get on with it! Scott

I prefer the Schaller.
Every time I set up a floyd so I can drop D on it, it doesn't quite have the fine tuning stretch to do it, but the Schaller does. Go figure. The 2nd Amendment: America's Original Homeland Defense.

When it comes to changing tremolos, I have a goofy rule. If the trem is top-mounted, I'll use the OFR, when it's recessed I'll drop in a Schaller, or a Jackson equivalent. Why I came up with that rule is beyond me.
