Depends on what you think. EMG, OFR, Pro mod neck, good looking paint. The question is, is it worth it to you? Your friend would've never got a grand for it on Fleabay (if its not real, I don't know. My Model 1 has the same control route though.) Might've even been a "Douche of the Day."

The inside shape of the control cavity definitely looks like a Model 2. Can you take a full shot of the back? The belly cut will be noticeably shorter on a Model 2 than on a USA Charvel.

-edit- Just noticed the JT-6 trem post in the closeup of the pickup. Definitely a Model 2 body. $500 isn't a horrible deal with that neck, pickup & OFR, but not a great bargain either, imo. The important thing is it plays well and you like it.

I wouldn't say it's a bad thing. It's basswood, so, it won't sound the same or work with the same pickups as Alder but it's not like it's junk or anything.

I put a JB in mine... I don't like the JB much in Alder, but it sounds great my my "Model Mutt."

I think I'm gonna make another before too long.

Looks like JT6 posts. Model 2 body.

I think you did fine but it's too bad they sold it as a USA. Those necks with plate and tuners go for good money, the model 2 body is very good quality along with the Floyd and Pup....500 was a fair price. The most important thing is that you like it! That's worth 500 to me all day long!

Yeah, I don't think that's a bad price. Somewhat unique, too.

If you have trouble with bumping the volume you can get some nice pots from specialtyguitars.com (500K CTS solid shaft) that are like the Pro Mod pots - smooth, but hard to turn.

$500 ain't bad, really. The necks still go for a nice price, and a Model 2 body itself can go high. It'd probably cost $500 to build that guitar from the same parts bought separately.
