  • J / C database

    Hi girls and guys.

I have the framework ready for a Jackson and Charvel guitar database. I have the catalog scans and I have a database. It is up and running. As a test, I have put around 130 guitars in the database to feel it. It works. And it feels awesome. You can nail a guitar pretty fast by using it, even when you only have a name on the headstock to go from. Give it a go here:

How would you feel about contributing by submitting x amount of guitar data entered in an excel spreadsheet? I am just putting out this feeler to know if this is a dead horse or not :-)

Not bad. I just perused the Charvel Model series by entering in "Model 1" "Model 2" etc. Gets you to the information pretty fast. Nice work.

Very cool, Henrik! I tried "HSS", and every import model with that layout came right up. The pics popping up as you mouse-over is awesome, and I think a total newb could find his guitar really quick with that feature.

I might be able to help out with some data entry when my workload lightens up.

Proposition/quoestion: Would it be feasible to add a data structure for flagging [recessed/non-recessed/non-recessed w. pull-up route]? Or would that make it too messy?

            Whoops.
            The Model 88 had a JT6 trem, not a JT500.

            Worked great!
            Thank you for your work.

                  For?

I just installed Chrome and it runs the page fine.

Yeah Cyg, leaving both of them in the cell was a note to myself to remember to digg further into this. I have a hunch that both trems were used on the 88. If you can remove this hunch of mine with some sound "evidence", I'd be glad.

Anything is possible, JJ. It all comes down to horisontal space. Or... having two views. One like the current, which is a nice one-liner. And a second view, a verbose view accessed by clicking a link, showing a separate page with all the data for a particular item. Work work!

But. Let me ask you: For how many guitars would you be able to fill this in (i.e. is it of any value?)

The JT-500 trem didn't exist before 1993/94 and the Model 88 was made in 1988... so... doing a little math here, I'm thinking it wasn't used.

                        Love the database btw.

Sorry, I was likely to dig that one up...I'm kind of a fan of that Model 88.

I took some stabs at it and it looks great.
Are people trying to use the selections on the right hand side?
Maybe that's where they are failing.

Play with the search box, it does wonders.

How about San Dimas made Charvels? and the Grover Jackson Legacy Charvels to?
