Re: Jackson "holy grail"?

As far as Holy Grails go I think Dave's got a collection of them.

I agree with Jeff the Metalcop on this one. As we all know, Randy's mom has his originals, and they will most likely never see the light of day.

I would say that the Rhoads that was accidentally sold at the '83 NAMM show is the grail.

On another note, I know who owns BOTH the Tommygun AND the Derringer (revolver) Jacksons. I am good friends with the owner (and I am also sworn to secrecy), but I had to let everyone know at least that they DO exist and are in safe hands. In fact, I have actually played the Tommygun, and I can say it definitely has the mojo going on!

What do you mean THE Tommygun? I see atleast 6 Tommyguns made in the J0001-J1003 logs.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Well, since J0001 was a pointyheaded white V, that leaves J0002 and J0003 to be Tommy Guns, which is only 2, not 6

And I do believe it was mentioned in the opening thread "the Holy Grail will be different for everyone, but what's the general consensus?"
Now, this can logically only mean one thing - what's the ONE Jackson (individual model) that is desired by all?
From the prices I've seen - it's a tossup between the Vinnie V, the Double Rhoads (otherwise referred to as the Vic Vergat, though he is unknown compared to Robbin "King" Crosby, who the King V is named after - in this case, first is last, and first does not automatically qualify as better ), and the LTDs.

Re: Jackson &quot;holy grail&quot;?

Well, Robbin stole the Double Rhoads idea from Dave Linsk who is now in Overkill. Dave's guitar was at Jackson being worked on, Robbin walked in, saw it, fell in love, had them make him one. He was more known than Dave, so blah, blah, blah.

The Vergat V was made in very early 1981, which I am sure predates the Overkill dude bringing his V in............

My Jackson "holy grail" would be Jeff Hanneman's black, sticker covered soloist. Or of course Randy's white V.

Sorry Jim, I meant the prototypes. If I remember correctly, both of the ones he has are the first ones made.
