Is it possible to get any info on the progress of a CS order? Save for an email from Mike Kotzen to get clarification on a item, I haven't heard/seen squat-ola, which, I guess, is the norm.

Yes. Contact your dealer and have him/her/them request an update on your work order#.

If it's your Charvel Star, I've been waiting for so long. I had a dream about it once, and no I'm not joking.

      I can't even IMAGINE what you're feeling

Ask the dealer. And get them to ask for progress pics too..
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Ahhh, it actually hasn't been that long- I ordered in May. I was hoping to see some pics though. I mean, for those of us who aren't rock stars and aren't living large, ordering a CS is kind of a big deal. It'd be cool to have some progress pics.

The email I got from Mike Kotzen asked whether I had any objection to nixing the rout for the 9v battery compartment and instead put it in the control cavity. In his mind, that was less wood removed, thus, less time/work and better tone? This indicates some progress. Yeah, I've been girding myself for the wait but pics would help. Or maybe not!

 Less time... how long do you suppose that route takes? Days? Weeks? Months?... My guess is he has no idea about your guitar's status... (Sorry, not trying to be a downer...)

Are we talking about the way I rout or the way THEY rout? LOL!!! Having never worked in a guitar production facility, I couldn't say, but I'm guessing about a minute. He prolly doesn't know the status. But I'm hoping Matt will find out...

IMHO, I wouldn't even bother asking at 6 months in. You're lucky if they've even started the build at that point. You can ask for a status update, but don't necessarily expect an answer or pics.

I'd rather they take their time building it well, rather than speeding up the build or spending time providing pictures. Just MHO. ...Unless, of course, they decide to hire an intern just for that purpose.

Have we ever gotten a good reason as to why it takes so long? I would think that an experienced luthier could make a guitar by himself in under a week. I just can't fathom why it would take months let alone over a year.
