  • Questions about Jackson's Custom Shop Spec Form

Well, there are many details I'd like to get more info about, so CS guitar owners, if you could help, any input would be really appreciated ! I'll give numbers to the questions, give nimbers to the answers to make this thread easier to read please ^^.

    1) Body Scalloping : I guess I know what a "scalloped heel" looks like, but could anyone post a pic of a "scalloped horn" ?

    2) What is the difference between "Jackson style" and "San Dimas" style necks ?

    3) Are the fret scallops well done ? Could I have some pictures ?

    4) If anyone has ever tried a Floyd Rose Pro, how different are these from the OFR ? I've heard of lower profile and narrower string spacing... ?

    5) How big are the hardshell cases for Rhoads guitars ? Could anyone post a picture showing the size of a case compared to him/herself ?

    Thank you !

    these are huuuge!
    mine is 120x52cm or ~47x20,5inch.

I travel around with it a lot by train, and so far I get asked at least three times a week wether it's a keyboard.
I'm still waiting for someone asking wether it's a guitar one day...

A lot of Fusions, and some Dinkies, have the lower horn scalloped.

      Archtops have both horns scalloped.

thanks ^^. So for the case, I'll better get myself a solid gigbag :p and as it's a Rhoads, no scalloped horns. That's a good start.

Dude, the hardcases for Rhoads are HUGE: get a gigbag for sure, unless you have a large room to keep it...even then, get a gigbag for when u play out: too much trouble...

The new Rhoads cases are V-shaped and a lot smaller than the rectangular ones.

Lower profile, narrower spacing, and I'm not sure if the plate sits the same as and OFR but it sits offset to the side in a Schaller route. I don't have an OFR to compare it to yet.

I'm always grateful for my case whenever I ding a door here, dong a stair there...
Seriously, I don't know wether you are experienced with rhoadses, but let me say; there is a reason why most rhoads guitars in ebay have damaged fins and headstocks.
                These guitars are huge!
The case is 120cm long because a rhoads is about that size.
And the fins are really known for chipping easily...

Maybe you don't travel around a lot or you're much more careful than me, but IMO a solid case pays off at the end of the day.
Especially with an expensive custom guitar.
