    Hi!

First time poster but I'm pretty active on the MyLesPaul and Marshall forums.

I've been gassing for a floydrose ever since I unloaded all my ibanez and other guitars to retool.

Is there a Jackson available that has...

    Soloist style
    Mohag Neck and Back.
    Carved Maple archtop.
    Set neck (not wings)
Ebony fretboard 22 or 24 Frets
Original Floyd rose dive bomb only.
    Non-active electronics Dual humbuckers.
    24 3/4" scale if a 22 fret ( Like a Les Paul )

    Thx in advance.

Closest you'll get is a 750XL, it had a set-neck, but only a few had mahogany bodies. I don't think they had mahogany necks, though.
I think the LS-1 had a set-neck as well, but not sure of the body/neck woods.

Then there's the JJ-1 which I think may have had mahogany/mahogany, but was an LP Jr shape, and I think 25.5" scale.

Jackson will do a set neck guitar through the Custom Shop. There are already a lot of them out there, though. Newc mentioned 'em.

Hes pretty much looking exactly for a Soloist Archtop Pro. Mah body, set mah neck, 3/4 carved/figured maple top, 24 fret 24.75" scale, ebony board with pearl inlays, 2 hum passive electronics, Schaller recessed floyd (you can easily block it for dive only). Youre not getting any closer than that without going custom shop. Good luck finding one though, theyre few and far between. I bought what I believe was the last one to show up on eBay a few months back. Theyre friggin amazing guitars, if you can find one, grab it. Trust me.

I might be wrong, but I believe for 90-91 they were Mahogany

I think a trans finish 750xl is the best match to the specs you are looking for.

Ah shit you know what, youre right, the necks are maple (just looked lol)... but then again, so are some Gibson LP necks. Not like you can tell by the feel of it as theyre finished. Though I highly doubt I could part with mine... I havent had it long but its def a keeper!

Well its either a 750 with a rosewood board and mah neck, or a AT Pro with an ebony board and maple neck. As others have said, the only 750's that were mah are the transparent ones.

Why dont you just get a Les Paul with a floyd. Sounds pretty much like what you want.

                              Doesn't seem that pricey.

If you want something new then be willing to compromise because those specs scream custom shop. Mostly because the majority of jackson players dont care for set necks. You should try a soloist. This company's reputation stems largely from its superior neck-thru construction. Feels nice, hefty and fast all at once. I have small hands compared to other guitarists and I love my jacksons. I know what you mean, coming from LP's as they do seem to have smaller frets. I play more comfortably on a larger scale however.

                              to each their own.
