Nuthin like a day off to hand some guitars and stand back to admire them!

Given that I am off today (thanks union!) I thought i would get around to hanging the guitars on the wall in the spare bedroom/home office.

Those guitar hangers are well made but they sure do not think security when they design these babies.

The hole is NOT countersunk and they give you a measly drywall screw that barely extends a whole 3/4" from the back!!! How the hell does that even penetrate 1/2" drywall let alone bit into solid 2x4??

A few mods with a countersinking bit and some solid 2 1/2" screws and they were mounted!

From left to right....

-1993 MIJ Jackson Dinky (still waiting to have the Super 3 installed and soldered up)
-1998 Jackson PC1 "Euphoria"
-2000 Jackson PC1 "Solar"
-1997 Jackson PC1 "Chlorine" (waiting for a new pup ring and some repairs)
-20?? Charvel 625 acoustic/electric
-20?? Charvel MIK pawn shop find (also in state of repair and reassemble)

That Euphoria was once owned by a fellow JCF member and landed on ebay. I was watching the auction but forgot about it until it was too late. Some dude bought it for $1100.00 and within a day started posting here asking about PC1's and the like. Turns out he did not like it so I offered him the same $1100.00 and it was mine!

Near mint with a fully functional sustainer too. Not sure if they still offer the color these days (I doubt it really) but it gets played alot at home.

My only guitar strung to 440 and with 12-52 strings. All the others are strung with 13-56 and tuned 1/2 step down.

Very nice! Good thing you had the sense to use different screws. That Euphoria PC is very nice, I've never seen that finish before. Do you have more pictures of the finish up close?

Ya the Dinky was a recent purchase and am waiting for an order from Stew Mac for pots and the like. Same goes for the Charvel CH.

The PC1 also need some new battery boxes installed because we know just how GREAT those babies are soldered up at the factory! LOL!

I checked with the Jackson site and they do NOT make the Euphoria finish anymore just as I suspected. I think that they stopped making that years ago.

I have played many a new PC1's and they are not even close to the choice of woods and fit and finish of those 1st few years.

Well, IMO the USA and CS Jacksons are still about the best you can get (especially for metal guitars). Many companies, Gibson being the most obvious, start losing quality but that doesn't mean their guitars aren't badass anymore, just "not as badass" as the old ones ^^
