  • Bought new Dinky Dk2 and came with no manual

I just bought a Dinky Dk2 in the UK. This is my first electric guitar, and I was quite disappointed that it didn't come with any documentation at all.

I have tried to contact Jackson support, but there is no support email address or contact info on their website. Also, if I click the Community link it reports a page not found error. I've been getting this for over a week now

I am beginning to wonder if they've gone out of business. The serial number database only contains entries up to 2001 too.

Has anyone got a clue how I can get a manual for this guitar? This would be really useful to me as a beginner, especially given the Floyd Rose bridge.

    Thanks

They are not out of business, fender owns them(bought in 2002, also the reason the data base ends in 2001)
Not sure if any jackson comes with a book on how to set up the floyds.

      Bad news for you:

Guitars don't come with a manual

"Hit strings, repeat" is what it comes down to

if you want to be able to work a floyd, the best way to do so is have someone show you step by step
      or http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...ose+setup&aq=f

Thanks guys. I've emailed them to see if I can get a PDF of the manual.

I have worked out from a couple of sites how to tune the guitar. I am now looking for more detailed information that will allow me to do things like adjust the springs underneath. Both sides are not level with the body and one side is higher than the other.

        Thanks

To say the truth Ibanez guitars come with a manual.

          At least my friend`s did.

to OP: as Nightbat said the best way to learn how to set up the floyd is someone who will show you how to do it.

Jackson/Charvel used to send manuals with their guitars. My 2005 Charvel Star came with a manual. My 2001 Fender came with one, too.

I've already had an auto response from Fender, so tomorrow with any look they should send me a PDF of the manual for the DK2.

It is bizarre that guitars don't come with them. The DK2 is far more complex to use than your typical remote control, and they come with them.

Dude, there is a ton of info out there on Floyds. Based on your initial issues, I'd say you have to adjust the pole pieces that the base plate pivot against. This can be accomplished by using the smaller hex key and either raising or lowering the trem until both sides are level. As for the trem being parallel w/ the body, you'll need to adjust the claw arm to which the springs are attached, located in the cavity directly under the trem, on the back side of the guitar. If back end of the trem is tilted up, tighten the screws underneath. If tilted down, loosen. Then it becomes a continual effort to find correct tuning and maintaining levelitity. Good luck!

I am almost a total noob

I've had a Yamaha acoustic guitar for 12 months, but this is the first electric. I've read through the stuff on AudioZone.de, which is most useful. It contains a schematic of the JR so at least I can see what the different parts are of a typical one.

Vector, what am I adjusting with that small Allen key? Mine is the JT-580 LP. Is it the two small nuts on the two front edges of the JR?

                    Thanks

                        Here you go:

                        1) Tune up*
                        2) RAWKKK!!

                        * Tuning up optional

Drago is right, Ibanezes do come with manuals, and they have all the setup specs including the amount of relief. Maybe Jackson should include manuals again.

check out this site for basic FR setup - changing strings, floating the bridge, etc.
