The local GC is asking $479 for this SL3? Ive seen then for over 1K new so that seems to be a good deal if it doesnt have anything wrong that you cant see in the picture. Anyone have an SL3 and if so how does it play? Can you compare it to the 90's Soloist XL Professionals?

I might just see what kind of deal they will give me on the "Venom" Charvel and this one.

That's not an SL3. It has binding; an SL3 does not. Are you sure that isn't a bolt-on neck? If so, it's an overpriced DK2.

And older soloist PRO would blow the doors off of an SL3.

Pretty sure thats been there a LONG while as I think I recall calling on it and we discussed that day it was a DK2.

I gotta give EOT1 credit though. I would have just said fuck it bought all 3 and weeded them out. At least he takes his time and asks questions. Trust me your doing it right if not you end up with guitars you pay too much for and try to get your money back on...ALA classifieds now lol

looks like a bolt on to me as well. I had a red SL3 and it was the only Jackson I ever owned that I didnt enjoy playing, well that and my Roswell Rhoads.

This is no different than Sam Ash. They have a used black DXMG for only $569 (they think it's a DKMG). I tried to tell them it didn't even go for that much new, but they don't care. They have lot's of guitars that have sat for years because they are asshats. Fuggem.

I got an email response from GC about the guitar. The guy was honest and said the guitar was in rough shape. That saves me a 60 mile trip.
