Scaloped sharkfin fret fretboard?

    A note on scallops. In my opinion, the whole neck should be scalloped. I don't quite get the 12-24 scallop. Yeah yeah, chords on the lower normal frets and solo on the higher scalloped frets. The description makes sense on paper.

    But in reality, especially if you are using jumbo frets - the closer the frets sits (12-24th fret), the less a scallop makes sense (to me).

    Imagine a normal, non-scalloped neck. On the high notes, the strings are supported by two narrowly placed frets and therefore won't easily "give in" to your pressure. Result is, you won't touch the fingerboard. On the lower notes, going towards the headstock, the distance between frets are much greater and here it is much easier to get in contact with the fingerboard due to the greater distance between frets. The tension is much lower. It is here you need the scallop the most, if you want effortless vibrato.
