i never quite got it either... there aren't really a large amount of warrior endorsees either. just dave from Revocation. i mean he's fucking awesome, but not quite enough to keep warrior fans like myself satisfied.

ESPee just puts a signature on whatever off-the-shelf model anybody in a band uses.

I've seen more Warrior users than Kelly users, at least in pics of the few Jackson-using bands that have been posted here. I'd say it was due to the superior design of the Warrior, which has a slimmer, more comfortable, Strat-like player-body position, whereas the Kelly is more Explorerish. Explorers are more comfy when slung low ala Hetfield. I never could figure out how Marty could stand to wear his so high up.

well regardless of ESPee's status, to prevent diversion from the original topic i'd like to reinstate that people need to get their shit in gear with this thing. i have like a jackson catalog where they show pictures of endorsees, and not ONE guy was using a kelly in the picture. warriors? yes, a few. but everyone else was rhoadsin' it or soloist-flaunting.

Why? It was designed by Brad Kelly who was the guitar player for Australian band Heaven in the '80s. It was called a Special/Pointy Explorer and was bigger with cutouts on the body (King Kelly). It got downsized once, then got downsized again when Marty started playing them.
