It has been a joke I've been rehashing with the wife for years. Every time we go past a yard sale. "there's probably an '83 San Dimas Star sitting in there right now for $50. Should we stop?"

I saw an old lady selling a bunch of LP records and a couple of electric guitars at a flea market in my town last year.

She said that they used to be her son's, but that he had moved out of the house years ago and that the crap was taking up space, so she was getting rid of it.

One of the guitars was an older ESP Horizon (? neckthrough model with s-h PU layout) that she was asking 5000yen for. I only had 300yen in my pocket so I bought KISS Alive II, Master of Puppets, and Live After Death, and went home. Of course, when I went back about an hour later, someone else had already bought the guitar.

So the deals are still out there, especially if the seller is an older gentleman/lady who doesn't know what they're selling and can't be bothered to check the Internet...
