I had ordered my production PC1 the same time I ordered the CS and was told that they were just starting the run and I should have it in four months. Low and behold, I had it in Dec. of `09. L&M here in Winnipeg are pretty good and fairly quick but I guess it boils down to what they order and from whom and how much they order all depends on how fast you get it!

And thanks... I have two kids a boy(13) and a girl(3) and yeah she's missed immensely here and thought this was a cool way to remember her by.
My buddy does a lot of paint work, he does a lot of shirts, and I might get one with the logo in my display picture. If you're interested, I could even give you a price quote. (PM me).

Sorry for your loss. My custom shop Charvel took well over a year to make. I was told that my current custom shop will take 10 months and I've been wating over 2 months on a quote on my third custom shop. I think they also use the custom shop team to build the EVH stuff - so I think that could be part of the problem. Your custom order seems pretty easy to get done pretty quickly - it's sad that when some of us order our dream guitar it turns into a nightmare.

Sorry to hear your story on all counts - I've waited well over 18 months for CS guitars before, but it seemed like things have improved recently...

I here ya on the quotes!! LOL!! I think the EVH stuff is done on the other side of the Fender factory. From what I gather only the Jackson/Charvel CS orders are done by four guys in a small confined area.
I'm getting the impression that if you really want a CS guitar you have to buy one of the guitars that the custom shop has done already instead of waiting for the one you really want built.

              Thanks.

Doesn't seem to have improved from where I'm sitting...
I'd almost be willing to try a different shop but I don't have many choices around here as far as Jacksons go. If I order from the States, I pay almost the same price but then get hit with duty fees when it gets shipped over the border and then in affect costing more, but would it be built faster???

I'll look into this for you... none of this sounds right. There has to be more to the story.

My buddy had emailled me that he had to follow up on 26 guitars and mine being one of them and said Jackson gave a shipping date of June 11th now but could come sooner. I'm hoping it's the latter.
Oh and by the way, thanks Mike.

Not true, at the L and M here, they have an SL1 in a green trans maple finish for like $2600. My friend wanted it, but decided to order from Nick at Piney Hills. I forget how much he paid in general, but with shipping and duties he paid I think $300 less?

I know you might be against it, but if you do find anything out could you post in here? If not it's all good.

Yeah, I'm sure the dealers on here could absolutely hook you up with way better pricing than L&M even after shipping and tax.

I picked up my trans green soloist for $2100 and I believe I got my production PC1 for $2350 if memory serves me correctly. My buddy is usually pretty good to me and pretty competitive about the pricing, trust me I'd have no problem ordering from the States if it was worth it.
Some of the speed shops here think they have you by the nut hairs when it comes to car parts and charge almost twice as much as what's advertised down south saying it's due to customs and duties and bla bla bla. So my neighbor and I said screw you and decided to order from Jegs and saved a shit load of cash.

Too much hate there Chief! There is always a reason for something and you can't really sweat the things you can't control!
I'm trying not to in this situation. LOL!!

Wow, two years just for a reverse headstock and a tiny bit of writing on the back of it? That is beyond ridiculous.

And the Charvel/Jackson guys do make the EVH guitars right there in the same place. It's not on the other side of the building. So yes, it's a fairly small group of guys making the guitars, but two years for a reverse headstock??? Unacceptable.

I just got my guitar which is also a custom PC-1 with Jackson reverse headstock and it took over a year to arrive plus as a bonus Phil Collen happened to be at the factory and signed my guitar. Hopefully they will reduce the time frame on yours.
