Sorry for your loss. My custom shop Charvel took well over a year to make. I was told that my current custom shop will take 10 months and I've been wating over 2 months on a quote on my third custom shop. I think they also use the custom shop team to build the EVH stuff - so I think that could be part of the problem. Your custom order seems pretty easy to get done pretty quickly - it's sad that when some of us order our dream guitar it turns into a nightmare.

Sorry to hear your story on all counts - I've waited well over 18 months for CS guitars before, but it seemed like things have improved recently...Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

I here ya on the quotes!! LOL!! I think the EVH stuff is done on the other side of the Fender factory. From what I gather only the Jackson/Charvel CS orders are done by four guys in a small confined area.
I'm getting the impression that if you really want a CS guitar you have to buy one of the guitars that the custom shop has done already instead of waiting for the one you really want built. You paid for Platinum..But you're gonna get Gold! - horns666

Doesn't seem to have improved from where I'm sitting...
I'd almost be willing to try a different shop but I don't have many choices around here as far as Jacksons go. If I order from the States, I pay almost the same price but then get hit with duty fees when it gets shipped over the border and then in affect costing more, but would it be built faster???You paid for Platinum..But you're gonna get Gold! - horns666

My buddy had emailled me that he had to follow up on 26 guitars and mine being one of them and said Jackson gave a shipping date of June 11th now but could come sooner. I'm hoping it's the latter.
Oh and by the way, thanks Mike.Last edited by SixstringKing; 03-04-2011, 11:57 AM.You paid for Platinum..But you're gonna get Gold! - horns666

Yeah, I'm sure the dealers on here could absolutely hook you up with way better pricing than L&M even after shipping and tax.Popular is not the same as good

Some of the speed shops here think they have you by the nut hairs when it comes to car parts and charge almost twice as much as what's advertised down south saying it's due to customs and duties and bla bla bla. So my neighbor and I said screw you and decided to order from Jegs and saved a shit load of cash. You paid for Platinum..But you're gonna get Gold! - horns666

Wow, two years just for a reverse headstock and a tiny bit of writing on the back of it? That is beyond ridiculous.
And the Charvel/Jackson guys do make the EVH guitars right there in the same place. It's not on the other side of the building. So yes, it's a fairly small group of guys making the guitars, but two years for a reverse headstock??? Unacceptable.Breaking Point, my all instrumental CD available here:

I just got my guitar which is also a custom PC-1 with Jackson reverse headstock and it took over a year to arrive plus as a bonus Phil Collen happened to be at the factory and signed my guitar. Hopefully they will reduce the time frame on yours.Last edited by guitarhero; 03-06-2011, 11:25 PM.Guitars:
