I don't understand how he could have just buried them in storage for years like that. I bond with my guitars.

The Jackson Explorer doesn't look as played, but its rarity expects to fetch a similar price (I think):

Hi Rudy,
Can you tell me how you were lucky enough to get that KE1 used on Cryptic Writings?
I know Marty generally kept almost all of his guitars, but heard he released a guitar in support of a Jason Becker benefit.
Does anyone know what happened to the Jackson Rhoads V he played once (only saw it once one a YouTube Video shot live in 1990s in Korea).

Question:
Does anyone know about the Rhoads Marty played live in Korea in the 1990s? Definitely was not a King V. It's on YouTube (Tornado of Souls I think) and the only time I have ever seen him play a Jackson Rhoads. He mentioned in an article he bought a guitar in Hawaii and I always wondered if it was that Sharkfin Rhoads & what happened to it.
Didn't see it for sale on the Auction.

I just noticed you live in Warren, I grew up in Cortland (hail to the HotDog Factory).
Is Marty your primary influence?
I love Marty's playing but he's not my primary influence. That honor I would have to say belongs to guys like Rhoads and Page

Hi Rudy,
Temporaily in Hawaii for the AF.
Back in the early 1990s, I was devoted to the black Meatal-looking Jackson guitar's that Friedman and Mustaine played.
I saw Megadeth for the first time in 1991 during Clash of the Titans. Alice in Chains opened, I think Anthrax went next, then Megadeth opened w/ Holy Wars, and Slayer opened with War Ensemble.
Have to agree with Page and Rhoads - I was playing a Les Paul in honor of Page back then, but traded for a 1987 or 88 Jackson White Dinky.
That's a remarkable story, especially that you could get a copy of Marty's work order. Is it a traditional Black KE-1 or a Maple Top? String thru or fixed Kahler?
I've also seen a nice KE-1T Blue Quilt out there too.

He did keep them until now so there was probably SOME bonding, just not the play-every day kind. It would've cost him a fortune just to ship all that stuff to Japan. OTOH, climate-controlled storage in L.A. for 10 years probably added up too, though not nearly as much as CC storage in Japan would have.
