I love strathead necks with 1 5/8" necks...I can go with 1 11/16" fine but I don't think a Charvel Strathead with a 1 3/4" would interest me at all....this guitar is very cool but it's obviously going to be hard to pls a lot of people on a limited edition..you either like the specs or you don't...maybe, as they will be individually ordered, they can do a different nut width to suit the purchaser?...it is a custom price after all...

Price out a neck and body like that from Warmoth, and you're still looking at about $700-$800 for an unfinished guitar with no parts.

I think the price is a little high, but not out of the question for what you're getting.

I'm sure they will play great, and I'm sure the quality will be there. I love my USA Jacksons, and when they're determined to make a guitar, they usually come out fantastic.

Hey Data187- Driskills are incredible guitars as are thorns, etc. But, you are way under on pricing. A barebones driskill blues will run you at least $2600 and I think I'm low on that quote. That's with a swamp ash body-no figured top. Granted it is absolutely worth every penny and more it's apples and oranges. Prs will hold their value somewhat but not in this market and chances are the "10" top may or may not be as nice as the Charvel. I think The value will hold on the Charvel simply because any time you slap "limited edition" on anything it seems to work. Just ask Prs. That being said, I don't have any interest in the Charvel- it's not my style, but believe me it will sell. There's a market for anything-a 6 inch french fry went for over $200 on evilbay not too long ago

Heh,heh, heh. I called a buddy of mine yesterday who sets up my guitar & works at the guitar shop I go to. I asked, he replied, for you $2000.00, $1,000.00 now and $1,000.00 upon delivery. the only thing we're waitin on now is to see if I can get a certain serial number. I want number 0924 because it's my wife's birthday, don't know why because we're separated right now but still it would be cool.

Maybe it's just me, but when I was younger and Charvel were just getting to the top of their game, a Charvel to ME was personified by the pointy headstock. It was THE unique character of these guitars. Strat heads have a definite place in the story, but besides the fact I couldn't afford one on a bet, being pointy is what made a Charvel a Charvel to me. I was disappointed when Warren's Skull w/Dripping Blood ended up being converted from pointy to strat-head. I'll take the pointies, thanks!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">LOL, better have your buddy tell his boss to check on his price structure, it aint the same as the select USA's. Also, Jackson probably wont do a custom serial # on it.

Reading these, its funny, some think that there has been a second coming (like me). While for others just don't believe the hype.

I will say this, while I am surprised that Fender would allow their covetted headstock to adorn a Jackson/Charvel, if they honestly think that they are loosing a Fender sale by introducing the st@thead Charvel, then they are more out of touch then I thought. I for one, will never buy a regular Fender guitar (even if I could find one that played anywhere near good, which I have yet to do, with one exeption which was at Guitar Center and way overpriced for the "vintage" (read: destroyed) condition it was in and the 3s pickup config which I can't stand).

I will, on the otherhand, consider a Charvel built to early San Dimas specs. But hey, to each his own.

I'm still debating on ordering one. As my name might indicate, I tend to agree with the poster above about pointy's. I never paid no nevermind to EVH's guitars on the covers of 1 and 2 as I thought they were fenders. Lead 1's or Lead II's actually (anyone remember those? very forgetable) I got into Charvel's (and Jackson's actually) w/ Ratt's round and round video. I thought Warren smoked when he fell thru the floor of that vid and played the solo at Milton Berle and that hot chick who's hair fell off (mistake chick) and he had that pointy Charvel. Loved ever since. How much does OSG need down to order one and I'll probably get one if it's not a gazillion or something. Just ordered my GMW which should be as good or better anyway, but man the chance to order a Strathead and maybe send enough business to instigate production? seems like a no brainer if I can sneak it past the wife. clark
