Just bought this guitar. At first glance, I thought it was a Charvel model 4 mutt because of the mini switches... but then I noticed the headstock says "Jackson" and "made in USA" plus it has 24 frets not 22. Ontario California neck plate. It has oddly shaped J-200 pickups without raised lettering. Looks like something from around... 1986? What is this thing?

So, 1992 Dinky Custom.
'92 catalogs seem to be all Japanese models. So here's the page in the '93 cat: http://audiozone.dk/guitargallery/?c...1993Page36.jpg"Quiet, numbskulls, I'm broadcasting!" -Moe Howard, "Micro-Phonies" (1945)

I still have to figure out what's going on with the wiring. There are actually FIVE pots, two of which are just chillin' inside the control cavity. There IS a circuit-board attached to one pot, maybe a JE-1200 or JE-1500, but it's not wired up. The neck and middle pickups aren't connected and the EMG goes in and out. I would have rewired the whole thing and replaced the pickups anyway, so I don't mind.
