I have to agree with the comments about the crowds at gigs. upon spotting the Jacksons (I usually take a minimum of 3 per show with me) someone comes up and strikes up a conversation about them or, if they're not really musicians who recognize the brand they do say they expect a kickass show based on seeing these guitars Even better yet, upon spotting the Mike Learn custom graphic Rhoads I've had some people ask permission to photograph it
And btw, I'd take my pointy Jacksons to a blues jam or any other type of musical gathering. They work for everything

An aggressive guitar makes you want to play aggressive stuff, and this is what comes out ! And Jacksons were build for high performance hard/heavy music, so I guess the design makes people think of heavier stuff all naturally. Which is good in fact
Frank Marino said that this is one of the reasons why so much music today is so monotonous and un-creative. People are choosing specific guitar brands and types for specific type of music without asking if there are any other options. I agree. I don't see no reasons to be apart of a stupid stereotypes. I have played with a Jackson at underground techno parties, never had some whiny hipsters complaining about it.

The way I wrote it makes it easily to misunderstand my own point of view. I'm the kind of guy who'd get the pink RR5FR for some br00tal Death Metal or so. IMO the only rule is to play what you like on the gear you like. But since the manufacturers build the guitar for something rather specific, you may end up with a wicked sound... try to sound jazzy with a WR1 that comes equipped with an Invader and a Full Shred ! I'm sure it's possible, but probably not quite as easily as with something else.

I think it's kind of funny that there isn't one single picture in this thread.

I just bought this and everyone assumes that I play country because I have a steel guitar....

With the volume knob rolled back, I can get a sweet blues tone from my white RR24... what do you mean 80's?

I've always wanted to put together a puss-hipster band that plays Vampire Weekend covers, but only using shred-ready extreme guitars: BC Rich, Warrior, Kelly, Explorer, etc...

I don't think I could make myself do it, though. I'd feel too bad for the guitars.
I will sacrifice Gracie Law to appease my emperor and live out my earthly pleasures with Miao Yin!
