  • Going to be in Anaheim this weekend, need suggestion for guitar shop

So i'm going to be visiting the Rat this saturday with a friend. I was curious if anyone knew of any good guitar shops one might go in and find a really good price on a used jackson or charvel in the area? Even if they don't have good prices just somewhere to check out some US Jacksons in general would be cool. The only thing around where I live in the low end imports and good luck even seeing a Charvel.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

GC Santa Ana and Fountain Valley should be within striking distance. Go and have some beers with Ron.

Honestly ...there is nothing to be seen in any guitar shops in the LA area...REALLY.

Even Guitar Center in Hollywood and Sam Ash a block away are pathetic. Long gone are the days when shops STOCKED really cool custom guitars. You just don't see them anymore.

Once in a great while you may run across something halfway decent in the used section...but it's rare.

I wouldn't waste any time looking.

Not J/C, but I'd love to check out one of the Carvin stores someday.

There was a Carvin store in Santa Ana a couple of years ago. I don't know if it is still there or not. I know Squid music over in Stanton has a few Charvels. I think they are imports though not sure.

awesome, i was just told that it's about ten miles away from where we'll be. of course 10 miles in the LA area takes about 4 hours :/ lol

(still has horrible nightmares from experiences on the 405... shivers)

Oh and a piece of positive news. I got called for a job making 5 bucks more an hour then i was making. it's only contract work but who knows i might bring a Carvin home (though I kind of have my mind set on a soloist... drooooool... sorry off topic

thanks for the info, any good steak houses down there? (uh to keep this on the jackson topic) that may or may not have jackson guitars on the wall while we eat?

If you don't mind driving an hour east on the 91, you could check out Wild West Guitars in Riverside. They have a lot of high end stuff including Jackson and Charvel. Don't be fooled by their web site. A lot of their inventory is not on it. Call and see what they have before you make the drive.

I wasn't so impressed with their selection, but this was years ago. The shop is fairly close to me, so if you go, give me a PM/ring.

the weekend was kind of filled with fail. Did have fun on saturday visiting the rat and unfortunately running into the ex girlfriend there who ruined my previous trip 10 years ago (she now works there... go figure. Damn you Orange! Damn you to heck!) but did have a blast. the person i went with resonated negativity the entire trip so sunday morning we hit the road as soon as we were both awake. I'll be making another trip down south soon, hopefully Ron I can meet up with you at a guitar shop then.
