    Can you help me identify this kelly?

    Hey Dudes whats going on? Im very interested in this Axe & im wondering what year it is & if it's American made (Hope So)? I believe it's a Higher End Kelly as far as comparing it to a KE3 it has "Professional" on the Head maybe an "XL". The Serial # is J010189 im thinking maybe Jan-01 of 89'? It has a Duncan & a DiMarzio...NO Neckplate it is in GREAT Condition! It comes with the Case & (I think the price is Killer) Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

    Any Professional series is made in Japan. Looks like a mid to late '90s KE3. An XL would have neck binding.

        I doubt it's a bad guitar, but it's not the top level Pro nor is it one a collector would search out.

              That ser # is awful early to be a KE3.

              It is a Japanese guitar though.

                  Thats what I thought about the Serial # to Ron????? Im not to sure exactly what Model it is. Someone who has a "XL" told me the Serial # is on the back of their Head....the Serial on this one is also on the back of the Head?..I do know it's a Killer Axe & the price was even Better! \m/

                    After doing some research it looks like it may be a XL after all. The Serial # on the the XL is on the back of the Head. This one is also on the back of the head.....it's just missing the "XL" Truss cover? Hmmmmmm very interesting

                      Its a 96-97 KE3. Only two years for "Professional" HS and reverse sharkies and black hardware. XL had normal sharkies.

                      Heres mine:



                      1996:

                      1997:

                      1998: 98 had chrome hardware

                      1995: Xl has reg. sharkies.

                      The matching HS in the 97 scan was something that apparently never made it to market.

                      As far as quality goes, its a damn fine machine.

                        Well my Kelly got here & I have to say its in Awesome Condition & Killer! I mean NO Dings,Dents,Chips Etc! This turned out to be a real good deal the Dude that had it really took good care of it. I have to say it's actually in better shape than I thought it would be in (& the Dude already said it was in real good condition) so I guess all turned out pretty good! Time To SHRED!

                              Nope. It's a KE3 like I stated. The XL had binding on the neck and headstock, and non-reverse real MOP inlays.
