Got one of those "Boston" 2 guitar 'hanging' stands, just the hooks under the headstock and no butt rest
Holds my RR1 perfectly without the tip hitting the floor

Hellbat knows what he's talking about, Hercules makes some quality stuff. Also, in addition to the obvious height advantage for Hercules and the butt thing, their neck supports swivel sideways to accommodate the fact that Jackson/ESP/Ibanez necks are asymmetrical. So that's cool. And they're pretty rugged as well.
I don't trust anybody who doesn't like Led Zeppelin.
The GS414B was a good choice, it fits the KV perfectly and has better side-to-side stability than the 412 (I have both stands).

Ah, well, I guess the 414B would be good for a KV. With the Rhoads and the asymmetrical shape, I like the folding backrest thing on the 412B that supports the guitar rather than it resting on the legs.

in a perfect world i would tested the out in a REAL music store .... alas
finklesteins music in downtowm wilmington is a "limited " jackson dealer, which means they have none...or any v guitar in the store for that matter so thats why i did not walk out of there with it to begin with ..not sure if it was a 412 or 414
so i came to where the experts are ...here at JCF
not sure if this is common but they told me they have been waiting 5 months for an adrian smith for one of thier customers
the really like playing herd has been growing latlely so if the 414 does not work out for the kv2 i'll check out a 412 from mf
the botom line is stands are a part of life and shitty ones are a menace
