  • Axe wraps. I tried one on my Jackson strat. Pic inside.

OK, I finally decided to try an axe wrap on my white Jackson Strat. I still dont know if I am sold on the concept yet. I chose the "american flag on stone" graphic and installed it today. it is pretty easy to install. but you have to trim it by exacto knife. a little patience and it works out fine. the bad part is, you know its vinyl and not painted. but for $25.00 hey, how can you complain for that price. not a bad option if your looking to liven up a boring axe. here is what mine looks like.

I tried one of these back in the 90's, sorry no pics available. I got the 'hot chick on the beach', and it worked pretty well to cover up road scars and paint swirls and all. IIRC it was a little time consuming, but a very quick and cheap alternative to actually doing a refin....

Like some women. Good from far, but far from good.

It wasnt too bad to install. the biggest work is taking the guitar apart. but its relatively easy. and I agree, it is a cheap and easy alternative to a refin. the thing is, I dont want to disturb the original finish on this one. its got some wear, but not bad. I just wanted to try something different. If I dont like it, I can always remove it.

That's exactly what I said last year when I ordered the same (or similar) graphic. It's still on there:

By the way, here's a tip for you. If you have some of the leftover excess sticker pieces, you can make body binding for a much smoother look:

I'm not very patient, either, but this part was much easier than it looks.
