I'm so f*cking tired of reading posts by people wondering how much they can get for their f*cking Jacksons. When did this place go from Jackson enthusiast to ebay pricing center?

How about this, buy it to play it and stop worrying about how much you can get for it on Ebay.

Couldn't agree more mate, I'm making a mutt with a charvel neck, and still have two stars in the pipeline, then it struck me I could probably get a USA wildcard for a few dollars as well, I have no decent, solid working guitar like that, and it'll be dependable if the projects go wrong. Can't really get on with the SL3, and the BCrich is all muddy and the neck orientates different ways depending on the weather.

Was it my post that inspired this rant? I'm looking to buy and play, I never sell anything, it just ends up as trash eventually. I just wanna get something as cheap as possible and not pay thru the nose, because in the UK we usually pay twice the dollar value in Pounds Sterling, so figure.

Put it this way. I spend £200 on rent a week for a tiny studio and that is going up. I spend £135 on fuel for my van each week and its still going up. I spend another £100 on basic food rations (Pasta) and they are going up, and I have to pay £35 government council tax per week. I spend £23 on mandatory insurance for my van a week and £5 road government tax a week. I also have to pay £60 tax on my earnings per week and £4 National Insurance contributions per week and £6 on heating fuel a week. I do a physical job and work damn hard 12 hours a day. This amounts to £568 per week and I am lucky if I can clear £500 most weeks these days...and remember everything is taxable by 20% Value added tax, including imports.

So yeah, I'm looking for a deal on a guitar and I don't want to pay the taxman or some fat middleman for the pleasure!

Took a while to edit that post. Best not buy another guitar now I've done the finances then eh.

In my opinion there are no GOOD reasons to ever sell a guitar. Now, financial problems or selling one to buy another are somewhat acceptable, but still not good reasons. (Unless you're a business that well, buys and sells guitars lol)

How many of you have thought at one point, "I used to have a guitar just like that, man I miss that thing and wish I never sold it."

I buy guitars to play them. The money I pay in VAT and import duty is also a good reason to keep them. I'm done buying guitars for now. Not just because of these unjustified taxes, but because I'm spending my cash on other music gear (amps, FX).

I've had enough of VAT, our government keeps giving more to the banks whilst they get even bigger greedy bonuses speculating on food commodities with hedge funds and pension funds. All our government does for me is stop me unnecessarily in my van and give me hassle (VOSA) and more endless red tape and required licences and permits....Sod em.
Government duty does NOT add value in real terms to your affections for your guitar!

lol actually I have never priced a guitar to sell. In fact I have never sold a guitar. I have given a couple away but never sold one. I think the closest I have come to asking for a price was trying to find out of there was a way to blue book the LTD so I could have it insurance put on it.
