  • Where was my Jackson made?

Hey All! Another new guy. I've been a Jackson fan since the first time I held one. I currently own two. I was at the Jackson site looking for info on my guitars and couldn't find one of them in the serial # listing. Since the listing is for USA models only, I'm thinking it may be otherwise. It's a Soloist Pro, SN: J000751, neck-thru. Do all USA Jacksons have "Made in U.S.A." printed on the headstock? This one doesn't.

The other is a '93 Ontario Custom "Sphere", hand-signed by Grover Jackson. I originally posted here looking for a value for it because I wanted to sell it. I, of course, was informed of the posting rules. After a bit of research and deliberation, I've decided to keep it. I would only regret it when the money was spent.

Anyway, that's my story. Sorry for the windy first post.

Not all USA jacksons say "Made in USA" on the headstock, but MOST of them do.

That said, yours is definitely not made in USA. The professional series is Japan made, though they are still fine guitars.

All Pro's are import. Not all USA guitars have 'made in USA' on the headstock, most do. But no USA guitars are Professional series.

The Pro models had all the features the USA models did (neck through, ebony board, pearl inlays, binding). They are considered almost equal to USA models. In fact I hear that production on the Japanese Pro models were stopped because they were taking sales away from the USA models!

Thanks guys. I'd always just assumed it was made in the U.S., but researching the history on my other Jackson got me looking more closely at this one. USA made or not, you're right, it's a quality instrument.
