I had bought a PRS Singlecut too. What a waste of money. One of the shittiest sounding and nasal guitars I have ever played (wasn't pickups, sounded like that acoustically too); and it was unbalanced and wouldn't stay put when sitting down without it wanting to slide off ass-end. PRS is furniture. And what's up with that freaking heel nowadays. Ridiculous.
It is more of a preference thing really. Both are great guitars for different types of players.

I received the latest catalogs from Musician's Friend and American Music Supply not long ago, and here what I saw:
      MF:
7 full pages of Gibsons and Epiphones, 4.5 pages for Fender and Squir, 1 full page for PRS, 3 full pages for Ibanez, 1 full page for EVH, 1/2 page for Schecter, 1/4 page for dean, 1/2 page for ESP and LTD, 1/4 page for Gretsch, and 1/3 page for Jackson!

AMS: Almost 6 full pages for Gibson and Epiphone, 1/2 page for PRS, 1/2 page for RickenBacker, 4 full pages for Ibanez, 3 pages for Schecter, 1.5 page for ESP/LTD, 1/4 page for BC Rich, almost 1/2 page for Gretsch, and only one picture for Jackson RR24!

And you wonder why many of the kids never got interested or heard of the Jackson brand here in the US!

But no worries guys, Wes Borland will carry the torch high and every metal kid in the next two years will be playing a Warrior!

-Metal wouldn't be the same without Pointy guitars-

Besides, with that Smurfy looking headstock and the uncommon Jackson body shape, kids might still think it's an LTD or a Schecter!
Don't get me wrong, I love that guitar now and if I can afford the 7 stringer I'd buy one, but still it doesn't scream Jackson to me!

......and that`s pretty funny to read too because that`s about the exact same story here, and it aint no real surprise to go see a pub rock band and the guitar player is playing a Jackson. I always thought that was pretty normal. Still do!

Last few times I went to my local music store to look at stuff there`s been different kids playing Jacksons.

Even though it does not scream Jackson now I think it soon enough will be. I do like the fact it is an original design than a copy of another guitar with just different pickups and finishes

PRS is a great guitar but that is comparing Apples and Oranges. You are comparing a versatile near boutique instrument with a guitar designed for shredders and metal heads in mind. A WHOLE different group of players.
I disagree. Im comparing high end guitars. If I was comparing a CS Jackson with an Epiphone then it would be apples and oranges.

I'm with church2224 on this one. It's like comparing a Custom Shop Gibson Casino Archtop to a Custom Shop Jackson King V. They are both well-built, high-end CS electric 6-string guitars, but that's where the similarities end.
Designed for totally different styles of music, completely different feel. Each may be among the best for it's intended use, but will likely just suck when attempting to switch roles.

Guess it depends on the player. I can shred on either but it is slightly easier on the PRS.

Get here in my country know sh1t about Jacksons. They are really rare and I'm glad I had a chance to own one of those golden age Japanese Professionals. As much as everything, visibility helps the brand a lot. The popular bands play the in vogue djent guitars.

Here, everybody is apeshit about Ibanez, Schecters and ESPs. ESP/LTDs here are expensive. I wouldn't pay USD800 for a Chinese/Vietnamese guitar that has some bad fret job and twisted necks. Everyone else who used my Japanese Jacksons were in awe of the really smooth fret and neck work and the overall setup and solid quality. Jacksons sure don't feel like toys as Ibanez.

I went to a blues jam a few months back. A bunch of old guys with their Strats, Les Pauls and tube amps. Walked in with my custom shop bengal and an AxeFX. They looked at me mighty funny at first. I am not sure but I think of few of them have never heard of Jackson's before and they certainly had not seen an AxeFx. By the end of the night they all wanted to play my guitar and or rig.
