They used to have some pretty cool electronics in their guitars from the factory with all the active circuits and stuff. Nowadays it's either the BIG 3 or the CRV2's. What gives I would love too get a new guitar with all that stuff in it from J/C, that was designed for that guitar, not the mass market. If it's a sound/tone thing, something new shouldn't be that herd to come up with.

What ever happened to the active stuff Jackson and Charvel used to do?

Probably cost-cutting maneuvers, and going with customer trends of " the Big 3" (Duncan, DiMarzio, EMG).
While the electronics matched with Jackson's stock pickups of the time helped give Jacksons a unique tone, they weren't exactly getting a familiar tone, which is what a larger majority wanted, and things like the Mid-Sweep and Gain Booster were handled effectively by pedals.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Grover wanted to eventually sell Jackson parts (the JT6, pickups, etc), and it appears that most of the Jackson parts initiatives went away when he sold the company.

For a time you could buy the pickups and electronics aftermarket, and I was able to get a new JE2000 bass circuit from Ft Worth prior to the buyout over the phone.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

there are fans of the Jackson electronics here, but how many times have you seen someone excited to score a cool old Jackson & asking about what pickups they should swap into it? Seems that Jackson is responding to what the market wants.Hail yesterday

I love em. I got 2 86's set up with them now and I am collecting parts to convert my RR's to JE-series actives as well.
The only thing I am struggling with is the guitars I have set in B tuning sound a bit muddy. I haven't found any setup that sorts that yet, Jackson or big 3. Tel me if any of you have fixed that.

The JE1200 - J50BC combo is killer. I've got another strat with a JE1200 - J90C combo which is just OK. The J90C really doesn't need much of a boost, ya know??_________________________________________________
