Does the custom shop do these on their orders, i looked on the floyd rose website and the original only comes in black, chrome and gold? yet every ESP including my M-ii NT has black nickel. if i cant get black nickel hardware on my CS its going to me a major issue.

That color is available for an upcharge here:

Beyond 11 is the original heavy metal guitar shop that sells all major brands of heavy metal guitar equipment.

and there is a model number assigned for the Black Nickel version: FRT500, so I don't think Jackson will have a problem getting one for you.

Hey guys, turns out the custom shop cannot do black nickel hardware on my custom warrior, they said that they can do black chrome? iv been looking on the net and cannot find any example pictures of black chrome hardware, if you guys have any pics of black chrome could you please post them here. strange that they cant do black nickel, iv got it on my ESP M-ii, plus i think nearly every ESP comes with black nickel.

Black Chrome is similar. Think Ibanez cosmo black. Same thing.

I thought Ibanez's cosmo black is more of a matte satin finish. Carvin uses black chrome for their hardtail bridges, and it's shiny.

Hm, I've only noticed it as like a black chrome. At least I thought that's what they called it.

Strange. Always thought the cosmo was similar to Jackson's brushed aluminum they used to use on certain models (as well as Schecter), just the cosmo is satin black and the brushed is a satin gray color.

Also, what's the difference between Gibson's chrome vs. their nickel bridges and tailpieces? I know the chrome is shiny, but the nickel I think is a little duller and wears quicker, but I might be wrong.

Had a BC Rich Ironbird Limited Edition with black chrome OFR and just picked up a ESP LTD RL-600 star with black chrome OFR. Not sure if it's a Ping or Schaller OFR though. Am seriously contemplating swapping out chrome OFR for a black chrome OFR on my CS Firetiger Les Paul Axcess. IMO, the chrome just doesn't visually mesh with the creme binding, rings and the black and red color scheme.

Can't you buy the black nickel Floyd from somewhere and have the Custom Shop install it on your order?

If we lived in the 80's

OP, if I were you, I'd just order the CS as normal, then get the black chrome bridge off that site and swap it out real simple, then sell the OFR from the custom. Also, care to elaborate on it?

Also, the cosmo black is pretty much well a powder coat finish, which kind of sucks when it's on your main guitar...

Fells, I'm 99% confident there is no such thing as a "Black Chrome" Original Floyd Rose. When the Custom Shop said that, they most likely meant standard black.

"Black nickel" is what ESP uses on a lot of their guitars. It is a cross between black and chrome, which might make somebody want to call it "black chrome", but the color is called BLACK NICKEL.

BTW, I've had some ESP guitars with black nickel hardware. Most people on the ESP forum hate it and several folks (including myself) have swapped it out for standard black hardware. I've grown to like black nickel on some guitars, but it depends on a particular guitar's paint finish.

It's weird how ESP pretty much only uses black nickel outside of a few artist model exceptions. Yet it's next to impossible to buy separately. That above link is the only time I've ever seen it for sale. Beyond Eleven used to have horrendous reseller ratings, but I haven't checked for awhile. I do wonder if they could actually follow through on an order.

Apparently, ESP mostly uses black nickel because of environmental restrictions. Apparently, producing black hardware is a messy process. I've wondered why Charvel has zero trouble using standard black on their MIJ guitars?

so do you think when jackson says black chrome they mean just black, or are they meaning the colour i want (black nickel), but just calling it black chrome instead?

do you know what other colours that they do hardware in? or is it just black, chrome, gold? its really annoying being able to have it on my esp M-ii and not being able to have it on a custom shop jackson. i just want something different other than black, chrome or gold to make it more unique, also black nickel looks great.
