  • what pickups would you guys recommend me?

I have a Jackson Dinky Firestorm right now, plan to use it as a backup guitar. I dont really care for or use the firestorm electronics and have been considering a pickup swap.

Just looking for suggestions on a budget for a used pup. I play metal, use a vht amp and I really like bkp painkiller style pickups but obviously on this guitar I would never do such a thing.

I dont know much about passive duncans or DiMarzios, but what pickup do you think would suit me?

Quite like the Dimarzio Deactivator also

+1 on the JB. But so many good options out there.

bill lawrence xl 500 i have 2 guitars with them and i just picked up a dkmg that i am going to pull the emg's and put in the xl 500's. they are by far the best pickups out there. i've played most of the normal stuff. seymour duncans, dimarzio, nothing comes close to the clarity and punch of the 500's. in my dot with the gain & volume up there is zero pick up noise.

I really hate recommending pickups because just like assholes, everyone's got an opinion.

The Duncan Custom is very popular on this site. Can't go wrong with a DiMarzio Super Distortion. Higher up the output list would be the Duncan Distortion, JB, DiMarzio Super 3, etc.

I just bought an Invader for $40 shipped, so the deals are out there.

my current fave is the Dimarzio Tonezone. Duncan Customs rock too. The JB can be good.
