Now we know why the new promod is in limited numbers and isn't being called the next wild card.

Yeah, you're right, guess it couldn't possibly have anything to do with the radiation leaks and massive power outages in Japan.

Or they had to wait for the public/sales reaction to MiC guitars to be profitable
IIRC correctly, they (AMIC in this case) once before tried to move production (to India/Korea, memory is vague), but retracted because the japanese managed to lower their productioncostsLast edited by Nightbat; 01-27-2012, 11:41 AM.

I don't really see a reason for that, why would Fender wait that long before stopping their Japanese production?

Or they simply decided to move their entire production to low-paying countries, effectively killing Chushin in the process
Blaming the Tsunami would be a good scapegoat

They have power issues still. Plus Fukashima is belting out massive radiation still. More then before. That has to have an effect on whether or not they can even see a future there again.
Thats why I think they should hire those guys and move them out. Right now they are trying to hold onto technology manufacturers in Japan. Their rice and other important commodities are being rejected at ports because of high radiation readings. It's hurting their economy in a disastrous way.

The good news is that the X series has been getting good reviews.

What needs to happen at this point, is to move all those builders to the Mexican or Indonesian locals and let them do there thing for FMIC as FMIC family and employees. They made some fantastic guitars in Japan. It's the discipline and talent that those guys put into it.
I may be wrong. But I may be right.

Every Jackson I own was made in that plant. I feel a special kinship as well.
But.....
Does this mean KILLER closeout deals?
Edit: NOPE. AMS has only 1!!! of every Japanese Jackson left, most of which are blems.Last edited by Axegrinder87; 01-26-2012, 09:17 AM.

Jackson and Charvel aren't exactly known for speedy updates to websites so it's not surprising they still show on the site. Although Simon got an answer as to whether or not the plant closing is true or not from Jackson, I don't believe there has been an actual press release concerning this yet.

Yes. Anyone that knows something about the Pro mod line? Seems strange since they are still left on Charvels website.
