I can see the Jackson brand being sold off before long. It's time for it to return to a small bespoke shop again. All this international greed has really screwed things up in terms of brand image and product quality.

I did notice that the Select map prices went up just recently and by quite a bit. I am glad I have what I have and will simply ignore the GAS. I really have not seen anything from Jackson or Charvel recently that stirred up the Gas. I would still like a Warren D. Snake some day.

Ofcourse Selects/customshops will have to reflect their "Upper pedigree" as well and you'll be seeing BC-Rich Handmade prices within a few years

But also remember, just because Chushin wasnt making much on them, that doesent mean FMIC wasnt. No one will ever know what FMIC was paying Chushin for them, but obviously it wasnt much. If, as chushinfan stated, his pricing was at one point LOWER than Korean pricing, then why were the guitars still selling for almost double the normal Korean guitar? FMICs greed killed Chushin is what it comes down to, and now that theyre going public, its only going to get MUCH worse.

Sad to see it come down to that, and even sadder to see that FMIC didnt realize what they had at that factory. The truth is, thats big corporate America for you, and the brand will probably never be the same again. If you speak with Miyazawa-san, thank him for 25 years of building some of the best guitars in the world. Seriously.

I have three Jacksons, all of them are MIJ. I am both very happy I have them, but also very sad the factory is closing down. Great quality instruments, I will have to hold onto them forever!
