After all, it was important enough for Marty Friedman to auction every single one of his Jacksons, 100% for Japan relief. First time it's hit home for me though :'(

I don't think so, actually - I think whoever builds the Japanese Fenders was building these. After all, the USA line was built on the Fender line, not Jackson's - that was one reason they moved them to Japan.
Division - American Metal that doesn't suck. Much. Even on Facebook.

It seems that no one in an official capacity wants to comment on this subject?

This really blows. The quality of my Japanese DK2 is on par with my USA Fender Strat. This is horrible news for the employees and consumers.

That's not quit true. and the usa jackson are made in the fender factory too. the japanese promod are made in the same factory as the jacksons.

That would be a shame if true. Jap J/Cs were always the benchmark for me. I'll be damned if I settle for what I consider to be inferior US made guitars.

I got an answer from Jackson this morning, sadly it's bad news.

"Sorry but yes, those models are discontinued."

So essentially the whole Pro series has been discontinued?
It's all about the blues-rock chatter.

Yes. Anyone that knows something about the Pro mod line? Seems strange since they are still left on Charvels website.

Jackson and Charvel aren't exactly known for speedy updates to websites so it's not surprising they still show on the site. Although Simon got an answer as to whether or not the plant closing is true or not from Jackson, I don't believe there has been an actual press release concerning this yet.

And quite the whole MG series, cause most of them were made in japan, too.

Every Jackson I own was made in that plant. I feel a special kinship as well.

                          But.....

Does this mean KILLER closeout deals?

Edit: NOPE. AMS has only 1!!! of every Japanese Jackson left, most of which are blems.

What needs to happen at this point, is to move all those builders to the Mexican or Indonesian locals and let them do there thing for FMIC as FMIC family and employees. They made some fantastic guitars in Japan. It's the discipline and talent that those guys put into it.

I may be wrong. But I may be right.

This sort of explains the big push for the X series made in China. I'm sure they were aware of this happening.

The good news is that the X series has been getting good reviews.

They have power issues still. Plus Fukashima is belting out massive radiation still. More then before. That has to have an effect on whether or not they can even see a future there again.
Thats why I think they should hire those guys and move them out. Right now they are trying to hold onto technology manufacturers in Japan. Their rice and other important commodities are being rejected at ports because of high radiation readings. It's hurting their economy in a disastrous way.
