Ok, I'm sure you see the fine tuners on the back of the trem right(if it's a JT6 trem)? The locking screws are inside the fine tuner "barrels". Just loosen those and the locking blocks will get loose but don't lose them!
Hope that helps,

Yes, most people hate them but I don't have a problem with them, they are just a different animal but obviously are not built as well as the floyds. If the knife edges are in good shape, it should last awhile for you.
Post pics in the import Charvel forum if you can.

I was hoping it was a newbie - was gonna suggest Vise-Grips
And yes, since the strings provide opposite tension for the trem springs, removing one or the other will cause the trem to pop off the posts.

Just for the record, the original Floyd on my old Kramer also does the pop-out trick. It's nothing to worry about.Member - National Sarcasm Society

Pea - You can do it that way - some say it is easier because you are better able to reset/keep the proper tension on the trem.
Vort - The JT-6 has no fine tuners on the top of the trem like a Floyd, but the posts that screw into the back of the saddles to hold the string blocks in are the fine tuners as well.

Go figure, I had two. I just sold one on eBay, and the other is there now. Actually if they were mint, they'd have the bar with 'em. Which these do not.

Easiest thing to do is get a block of wood about 1/4"x2"x3" or a piece of paper towel folder over and over and place it between the trem and body, so when you take off the strings, the trem won't mar the body, and tension will be kept on the springs.
JT6 is a fine trem, you just need to get used to them. The 2nd Amendment: America's Original Homeland Defense.

i am getting used to the trem, not as bad as my first impression...although, two of my fine tuner little allen head things are stripped! no hardware store around sells anything similar...i was wondering where i could order a couple or perhaps someone could stand to sell 2? i bought this model 4 because it was 150 bucks and figured i could make a few bones from it but im slowly falling in love with it and close to changing my mind, ill see when i get it professionally set up

There is a guy on ebay that sells high grade replacement screws for the JT-6.They are 17.00 bucks but well worth it I've got 2 sets from him.
They come with a snap-on allen wrench of very high quality.Let me tell you these are just as good as the floyd locking screws.Keep your eyes out on ebay for them.Really? well screw Mark Twain.
