Just checking in! Found this site by accident because I was googling the serial number of my new (to me) Jackson PS-4. By reading the database thread I figured out that it is a MIK model and OT is in general a well built guitar. Also this past Christmas I bought my son a 2011 KV "Shuriken" model and it's a pretty cool guitar with those rare inlays. Hope to learn a lot here since this seems like a very active forum when compared to the official Jackson forum which seems to be a bit stale. Oh yeah I'm also a noob guitar player, only been "playing" for 3 months now but I put at least two hours a day so I'm hoping I'll get better and better.

Thanks for the welcome! This is not the first time I ran into this site by doing random google searches. When I bought my son's KV I wante to know about the weird inlays and I was directed to a thread in this site and that's how I found out that it is called "shuriken". This is definitely the place for everything Jackson. :headbang:

That PS-4 looks more like a MIJ model. The offset dots are usually the sign. What does the control cavity look like. If it's the normal Jackson/Charvel one then it's Japanese
        It's pronounced soops

really? From what i've gathered from that thread if the serial doesn't start with a 9 then it's a MIK model. If i'ts MIJ then that would be great since when I think of anything MIK from the 90's can't help it but to think Hyundai quality from the 90's lol! actually doesnt matter here it was made, I can tell its built like a tank!

May not be rare now since I'm sure there's quite a few left in GC's across the country but it was a short production run. Here's the full facts from Jackson:

Welcome to the board. This place has sucked me back in on and off for almost a decade.

EDIT: Make that over a decade. I was on the old board too.

Again thanks for the warm welcome guys! Quick question. Anyone knows what's the fingerboard radius of my guitar? I'm sure it's not compound but it does feel pretty flat, especially when compared to my Squier.

And another question. Is it possible to convert the trem arm to the kind that has the collar that allows the arm to spin freely without getting unscrewed? I have the arm that screws on the trem and it's only fully tight when it points to the 6 o clock position, but when you bring it up to use it, I can feel a lot of slack and I'm afraid I'll eventually strip the treads.

                        Thanks!

Yah, I hate it when my treads get stripped!
