  • Help Identify my Jackson please!

    Hello all,

I have a guitar that I bought from a friend like 8-10 years ago, that I was hoping someone could help me identify. I havent been able to find one exactly like it. I dont know if it really is a professional, or the neck was swapped, or what. Also, apparently there is a difference between a "pro" and a "professional" but I couldnt find any info about the serial number, so I was hoping some other features could identify it.

It is a Jackson, with "professional" on the reverse headstock, and reverse sharkfin inlays. 24 frets on the fretboard. Two humbucker pickups and it says duncan designed on them. The bridge is a "Licensed by floyd rose" that I think is a JT-580LP, which I gathered by looking at here: http://audiozone.dk/index-filer/TremoloInfoProject.htm

Mine *looks* like the chrome one, with the angled corners on the back plate, but it is black.

The switch on it is a 3 way toggle switch, in this style:

The guitar serial number is 6 digits, and start with a 6.

The guitar itself is a blue quilted finish on the top, black everywhere else. I'm not sure if that was custom or from the factory or what.

One last thing the case to it has the Charvel Jackson logo

    Thanks!

    Welcome.

You know, it might help to know what SHAPE the guitar is. Strat? RR? Kelly? KV? KS? I don't have a clue as to what you are describing other than it's blue with a black back.

Post a picture of the GUITAR.

I'm guessing the neck is not bound?

Not to be a wise ass... But you wrote a bunch of things about the guitar, and you even went through the trouble of finding and posting a picture of the type of toggle switch... Why wouldn't you just post a picture of the guitar itself. Even a cell phone pic would be better than nothing. Just sayin...

          I lol'd.

It's got 4 wheels, it's black, sometimes when you look up you see the sky but other times you'll see the roof and goes vroom when you push the pedal... What kind of car do you think this is?

Can't be; he said it goes vroom when you push the pedal.

I'd say it's a 1996 Dinky of some sort, given the reverse head, and KE-3Rs from '96 had 22 frets.
