  • Green Monster Charvel Mutt...What do you think?

After a swirl disaster, I decided to try my hand at a Slime/flourescent green Charvel tribute. Graphic is vinyl and can come right off but I like it! The body is a Jackson string thru (not sure of the year), neck is a Charvel 1987 Maple with the TM on the pointy headstock and is in awesome shape, Installed a new tune-o-matic and an EMG 81X/85X set of pups. Missing the Low E, I must have used it for another guitar. I will get that rectified tomorrow! She was fun to build and sounds awesome! I like building them just as much as playing them. What do you think?

It's odd to find a 22 fret Jackson Dinky body, even among the imports. How's the intonation?

Exactly what I was thinking. Does it intonate?

Looks like a 22 fret body to me. Is this a body from the JS series? Maybe a JS30DKT?

Nice Green Mutt. Nicely done. Definitely double-check your scale-length.

Thanks for the kudos. I was able to intonate her with no problem (at least roughly) I put a new tune-o-matic on her and just matched up the saddles with the old bridge as a starting point. I will attempt to get it spot on tomorrow and let you know the result. I finally found my wayward E string and strung her up properly. She sounds great. The EMG X pups have looong sustain and just scream. I bought the body on eBay and it was advertised as a 2000 Jackson DR6 Professional...it is a Japanese model that came with a 22 fret bolt on Maple neck so I think I lucked out mating this body and neck! I must admit, I totally spaced out on checking the scale length! Glad I seem to have dodged that bullet!
