Stupid Question - Electronics Route?

It just occured to me that my new DK1 has the old San Dimas-style smaller electronics cavity route. And yet every other current USA J/C Soloist or Dinky Strat has the larger route. ...Why is the DK1 different? [img]graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img]

At first, I was thinking they went with the smaller route to keep more wood in the body, as there is also a cavity for the single battery powering the EMGs, too. But my PC1 - which is 18V double-battery powered - has the larger route.

Weird. [img]graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img] Anyone know why the difference?

P.S.- Forgot about the circuit board in the PC1, so that explains that model. But why the DK1 is different than the all the other SL models? ...Well, as the Scorpions said "I can't explain".
