  • Hard rock night

Just wanted to say that this pre-ester night was a heavy one. Got together with some friends, metalled the shit out of neighbours (js30, rr1 and stars tb03). Greetings from Russia.

Unless I'm mistaking, Easter was a week ago in the US. So are you saying if I were in Russia, I could get the Easter bunny to give me candy again?

Yes, Catholic Easter is week before ours, but we don't have bunnies, just colored eggs, so yours is still better :-)

Easter is a moveable feast, meaning it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. The First Council of Nicaea (325) established the date of Easter as the first Sunday after the full moon (the Paschal Full Moon) following the northern hemisphere's vernal equinox. Ecclesiastically, the equinox is reckoned to be on 21 March (even though the equinox occurs, astronomically speaking, on 20 March in most years), and the "Full Moon" is not necessarily the astronomically correct date. The date of Easter therefore varies between 22 March and 25 April. Eastern Christianity bases its calculations on the Julian calendar whose 21 March corresponds, during the 21st century, to 3 April in the Gregorian calendar, in which the celebration of Easter therefore varies between 4 April and 8 May.

In the US this is also called The Orthodox Easter.

I've had to write algorithms to forecast the dates of the major holidays before, and I must say that Orthodox Easter would be a tough one!

Very interesting answer. Quite a lot more info than I was expecting. I learned something new today.

They are not usually stored like this, it's just something I found in the morning among friends sleeping on the floor. RR1 rests in it's native hard case, BN03 lives in a soft native bag, JS30 is already dead (but was never worth caring anyway). This "pose" was completely unintentional since nobody remembers what were we playing somewhere after 3 am, how we put guitars down and went to sleep. The positions of guys was like they just fell unconscious at once.
