The x's were only an approximation... I'm sure they could be moved only slightly from where I marked them in order to avoid moving the jack.

Woah now, whats with all the headstock hate? Ive always thought that its the 2nd best headstock design on the market, 1st being the standard JC pointy of course.

I think these guitars might be made in Indonesia. The back plate on my MII SLX does not have those spring ''holes'', it's just a piece of black plastic and the sticker on the back of the headstock is alot bigger than the ones found on the X series, maybe to make room for a longer word like ''Indonesia''?

I personally like the headstock. That might also be because it is technically correct in that it has straight string pull.
Doesn't matter anyway since it has a locking nut.

In all honesty, we should HOPE theyre made in China... even though I dont support the damn commies, theyve proven that they can make a decent guitar at that pricepoint.

the body might be alright but, why don't they just design a new headstock from scratch? How many people are gonna buy that?

A lot of people. The regular pointy as a 7 is too long and looks like ass!

Looks like an old SLS to me shape wise just thicker I don't have a problem with the headstock at all.

I think they rock. Thats Metal. As far as straying goes. Jackson started by straying from tradition. Why change now. Get a new paradigm already. New product roll out means "NEW" product. Glad to see these guitars.

Those look like Generic Current Metal Guitars to me, but I understand Jackson needs to make stuff that they think will sell. I'm sure they'll still produce the classic stuff as well. And even if they don't, plenty of those around for me to buy second hand. Ideally though, they'd be ahead of the trend, not reacting to it after a couple of years... but that's pretty hard to do.
