  • So I removed the JE-1200 booster from my Jackson Pro..

Hated to do it, wanted to keep it stock but it just tended to be noisy, didn't need the gain anymore, and seemed like the 9V always went out at the worst time.

In any case, still sounds quite good in passive mode with 50M and 200 pickups.

Still not sure if I am going to hold onto the booster or sell. Anyone have thought on the going rate on the used market?

There's a guy who has them, new and wired, on ebay for $45, free ship.

A "noisy" used one? No idea.
I'm in the market for a spare, but haven't brought myself to pay the $45 yet.

Sounds like it has a problem, mine never made noise and the battery would last a year even if I left it plugged in accidentally overnight a few times. My guitar is a 2H however so maybe it's just making the singles noisier.

remove mine on my Elite RR and dropped some EMG instead. didn't find that the difference was that noticeable to keep it

if it's going bad, then it might not go that high in sales... having to fix them might turn potential buyers away.

Save it in case you sell in the future.
