  • Charvel Fusion info. & identification.

I'm not sure what Charvel called their version of the fusion, but I just bought one from a guy on e-bay, and would like some info on it. Its 24 fret, 24-3/4" scale (of course), has a Kahler Floyd Rose (I'm assuming not the original unit) and is routed for two hums, the bridge pickup being slanted. When I get the guitar I will check the serioal number (assuming it has the original neckplate)

    Can any of you help?

Oh, it has the toothpaste logo if that helps.

Charvel's version of the Fusion is still a Fusion. The closest to your description is a Fusion Special, but it had two slanted single coils in the bridge and a straight single coil in the neck. Have you seen the guitar in person? Is there evidence that it has been re-routed??

I haven't seen the guitar in person yet. It is on it's way. Maybe you can tell from the pics. Here is the link. Did I get a good deal?

I looked again, and there does appear to be evidence of a hack rerout job. What do you think?

Looks to me that some modifications were made. The extra holes for the pots are kind of suspect...

Did you get a good deal? As far as I can tell, yeah. Would have been better if the tremolo were complete, but it shouldn't be hard to find a good cheap replacement. (Schaller style Floyd Rose)

Actually I have one of those Kahlers sitting around here that is almost complete. I'm sure I can make a decent one out of the pair. Plus I have a Dimebucker waiting for a home.

That looks like a Fusion Special to me, you can sorta see where they routed out the little point in the bridge route. + you can tell the router has been in the neck hole.

DUH I forgot the big ID point. The Special was the ony fusion not to have the heel cut out on the back, they just shaved it down at an angle.
