Damn, is it just me or does the top edge look incredibly sharp? Like it would give you a rash or something after playing a gig.

F-me we have hit a major roadblock on the finish. Seems his finishers are f'n stupid and cant manage to do a good finish on this shape? Makes no sense to me or him but not sure whats gonna happen now. They basically fubar'd one already and are afraid now to touch the other...the excuse is the tight angles and shit for staining with an airbrush and proper finish...I am royally f'd off about this as I already spent money to get 2 cases and electronics and shit for these. And I dont want to take the bodies and pay someone else a mint to finish em now as I had budgeted for what was discussed.

Why just once with one of these places I have worked with can my shit not go smoothly. I think my next purchase will be from either learn, sully, or someone else that we know more directly. I am literally beyond fucked off about this right now. Especially to get told this after having the completion date moved 3 damn times.

Dunno that I'd go that far, but I'd like more of an explanation. Granted, they look like they'd be a sanding nightmare, but what style of finish were you wanting on them?

It's weird that they are using an airbrush for the stain in the first place i would think.

The non-recessed one hum. I already love it.

probably a lot harder than they first expected and priced. all of those inside cuts are hell, its easier to say they can't do it than lose money doing it right.

My BS comment was just based on the fact that I've seen guitars with plenty deeper cutouts than that make it through the finish process ok. Obviously, more work, but I kind of got the vibe that the painter was saying that the body style was just too exotic to paint, which seems silly

I hear ya, and you may very well be right, but I was interested in knowing what their issues and concerns were. We're assuming that the person painting them are guitar painters and not car guys. They may very well be, but from reading the post, I was just reserving judgment until I knew a bit more. From the post, I got the feeling that they're car guys. Could totally be wrong, here.
