I'd like and all white Adrian Smith with Maple..without swapping necks, and pickgaurds.

Every since I saw Jimi's Woodstock strat..white or Vintage white..that's it. I like white LPs too because of Randy..so well..shit.

I'm a professional guitar player and used to be a Jackson artist until I realized that this is NOT the company I know and love anymore. Nothing I have ever played that came out of Indonesia, China, India, or Mexico has been professional quality, and doesn't deserve to bear that name. And I'm even MORE disappointed that they are pushing these guitars on their artists and making them do promo videos for them while they lie through their teeth about how good they are. I liked it back when companies WANTED their artists playing their BEST guitars. Hell even the pro series we had recently wasn't anything compared to the Pro tier of the Professional Series guitars from the early 90's... We're witnessing the massive downward spiral of Jackson and Charvel guitars thanks to the folks at FMIC. I will hold onto my Glendora, Ontario, even Corona, and Pro series Chushin Gakki Jacksons and cherish them while FMIC destroys the pride of the company. What happened to taking pride in building quality instruments?
^this times one thousand. Every single word. I wish I could get excited and say BRAVO! but what's to really get excited about all of this.

Make it happen...show me the way.

The playability smokes any Jackson and Charvel I played and own. The F'n thing plays itself.
That's not what I'm into, but I gotta say the MIJ Fenders are every bit as good, or even better than the American Standards and American Deluxes. They're not quite custom shop material, but they're somewhere in-between the two in playability, build quality and tone.

I did check out two American Select Strats recently, and I have to say those are fucking great. If only they had Floyds. Oh, the Elites are pretty amazing too. It's sad that you have to order a masterbuilt just to get a Strat with a Floyd. That's nearly a $2000 upgrade at the custom shop. Just for a Floyd. That's just fucked up. That's why I'm digging the MIJ stuff... their high end Strats with Floyds start at about $1300 USD and top out at about $1800 for their premier line, but the quality is phenomenal.

Good luck on your quest. Stuff like what you're looking for is around, it just doesn't come up often and gets snagged up quickly when they do.

Also it goes to show that they didn't even have the audacity to put "Professional" on the headstock. I absolutly agree and understand your "frustration".

Besides that i will give it a try and testdrive some of these new pro series guitars even if they are manufactured elsewhere (what i suppose).
But to be honest, i don't expect much.

Nice. But i doubt these will be made in japan.
Is Fender still building some models in Japan? Then it could still happen.

            My Pros:
What i really like is the combination of oil-finish and neck-through-construction on import / non-custom-shop Jacksons.
And yeah, there is some ebony again.
            I also like the piranha-inlays.

            Absolutely agree

            Cons:
But for me a Jackson guitar has to have pickup rings! I know there was the DR for example but to me, this is more an Ibanez-thing and always reminds of that.
And as on the elite series, i really really dislike chrome hardware.

Rings can be added much easier then taken off. And Ibanez did not originate direct mount pickups.

Jackson, please offer a limited edition or something SL2 in gloss black and black hardware (and pickup-rings).

They already do have that. "SL2" Its a Select. They are for sale all the time. =-)

I think they'll be the same as the ones on the Made in Japan Elite Series.
Thats my thoughts to. It would make those piranha inlays pop a bit more.

They need a reverse headstock model with Piranha's. Then they would have 2 sold. Hehe

Not impressed with this series. I'd rather have an X-series than one of these.

What a funky neck joint...and I think that black binding really ruins the look of those maple boards.

Here's the differences I'm seeing between the Pro's and X-series:

                        Alder bodies instead of basswood,
                        ebony fretboards instead of rosewood,
graphite reinforced necks, oiled neck finish,
                        direct mount pickups (no brackets),
OFR instead of Floyd Rose Special!,
and come with Dunlop Strap-locks from the factory.
Only +$330 on MSRP to get pro version. very nice!!

I'd like to jump 20 years into the future and see if these necks have a greater tendency to twist and warp. They must have known that we'd tear a strip off them if the guitars went to a lesser construction method without adding the reinforcement graphite rods. The neck and the direct mounted pickups are a total game changer.

...it's going to get really hairy in the Jackson aftermarket with all the junk floating around. Know your product! lol

Well, here's to hoping the KV will sound as awesome as it looks. \m/

Everyone using Gibson's silverburst finish is getting a bit tiring, even though I gotta admit on that RR it does look nice. It's a shame it has actives. I know a lot like them and I don't wish to impune them but they're not for everyone.

I would seriously consider cash on that soloist pro if it had trans green with gold hardware. More finishes will come if it sells well enough, so I'll be patient.......

Can't speak on the looks, but the neck joint should be fine. Anderson does a 2 bolt that is very stable. This looks to be a variation on that.
