Cheers mate! Banana head, aint heard that one before Im in the UK so you probably all in bed , i get a bit eager sometimes!

Well iv talked further with the guy selling the USA model, he'll let it go for £600, $950. So theres like $250 difference. If a bidding war starts on the Pro and it nears the price of the USA, ill grab the USA no doubt.

Thanks for the replies guys, ill post some pics up when i get it!

I prefer white guitars. And I get a little leary when some does a refin, especially in black. If the refin was done by a reputable luthier or graphic artist, I might feel a little more comfortable about it. So my choice would be the white Pro.

I have a '91 white solist pro. I b ought it from Guitar Center online used a few years ago for $750. It is a 9.5/10 in condition. It is absolutely beautiful. It always stays perfectly in tune. The MOP logo and the frets is perfect. I bought it because I couldn't afford a made in USA soloist and I have never regretted it. In some ways, I feel like I can play the hell out of it and not worry one bit.

Just thought id update you all. The white Pro ended up going for more money than the USA model so you can guess which one is stood in my bedroom right now. The refinish as advertised is a professional job and it looks stunning. This is my first Jackson, and the neck on the USA soloist's is killer. Ill post some pics soon but im too busy playing the thing!

Actually, the 1990+ USA Soloist was called the Soloist USA. The Soloist Custom was pre-1990, and though many will argue that all pre-1990 USAs were Customs, the "Custom" in this case was more along the lines of the LP Custom - based on the ebony board and mop inlays. So you could order a "Soloist Custom" and not have to explicitly specify "ebony board and mop fins". All you had to define was the pickup layout and bridge to end up with what would later be known as an SL1 or SL2.
