Yeah, it's surely harder to reach pots sticking out on a plate then reaching into a cavity...ummmm ok... [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] If you're using a crappy gun to do your solder work then it probably is easier on a Rhoads. But if you have a GOOD soldering iron it is much less work to just pop open the cavity and go at it. I always had trouble getting Rhoads pickguards to STAY WHERE I PUT THEM. [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] I eventually found that you can wrangle it in such a direction that you can put it back into the cavity, face down, and it will stay in place. The problem with THAT is that that if someone cut the leads on the pickups, or any ground wire, too short you'll have to find some other way to hold the thing in place. Not only that, but it can be a PITA to put one of those Rhoads faceplates back on.
