  • changing strings with a floyd rose....

hello all, i got my first jackson on monday, a SL3 soloist. got it for 700 dollars at guitar center. so i was playing it today, its my first guitar with a whammy bar. well i bent the bar a wee bit too far and i broke 2 of my strings.
the people threw in a free set of strings so i decided to change them all. but this is my first guitar with a tremelo, or a locking nut and i dont want to screw this up. could someone please help me out in changing all the strings?

ps.. this guitar owns all. i love it, jacksons rules. id post pics but i dont have a camera.

hehe. Different locations, exactly the same setup. I didn't know where to find that since Jackson don't have it on their site anymore. And then it hit me - try the site of the guy that wrote it!!

/edit-Damn I should have typed faster instead of watching the Phillies game while typing.-edit/

Here's a couple that should help-

            http://carvin.com/manuals/Original-Floyd-Rose.pdf

            http://guitar.about.com/library/howto/htfloydrose.htm

Once you do it a few times, you'll be able to do it without thinking about it.

well i figured out what to do on my own lol, i got the strings changed fast, now im still tuning. it sucks as soon as i tune 1 string all the others change. but now i know my sweat and tears went into this guitar too, now i can enjoy it that much better =). thats for all the replies too, so late at night. jackson as a guitar and a message board is awsome.

Next time change one string at a time and you won't have to tune it quite so much. Be sure to stretch the strings out good, then retune and do it again and again! You'll get the hang of it real quick, everything'll be cool.
